MBA+ CURRICULUM
The coursework within the MBA+ program can be grouped into four segments: foundation skills, business disciplines, integration and concentrations/electives.
- The foundation segment has two components: Business Perspective and Leadership Development.
- The Business Perspective component provides students with an integrated understanding of the global and competitive challenges facing business today. The role of innovation and creativity is emphasized here.
- The Leadership Development component provides students with the necessary background and support to develop into an effective manager and leader.
- Discipline Courses: Discipline courses build on the integrated foundation coursework and provide more in-depth knowledge and applied skills related to accounting, information systems, finance, management, marketing, and operations.
The role of innovation and the global environment is fused throughout these courses. In addition, each student will be provided the opportunity to develop their managerial competencies. - Application Courses: Application courses formally address the systematic integration across all of the business disciplines.
This occurs in case studies as well as “real world” projects. In addition, students are provided opportunities to apply their managerial competencies. The coursework also includes a final applied thesis (Business Project ). - Concentration/Electives: The MBA+ program allows students to focus their degree in a wide array of topics.
Thanks to the variety of coursework offered both within the Business School and available through other departments in the University, we can offer an uncommonly wide range of specialization options. This provides students with the necessary broad background in all functional areas of business, with the added benefit of a concentration that is flexible and can include electives beyond the business school’s curriculum. Electives will be selected from courses offered by the School of Business Administration or may, with the approval of the Director of Graduate Programs, be selected from areas outside the School of Business Administration.
Concentrations are available in the following areas:
- Finance Option
- Innovation Management Concentration
- International Business Concentration
- MBA+ Sustainable Enterprise Concentration
- PSU Sustainability Certificate
- Real Estate Development Certificate
- Food Marketing & Logistics Concentration (FMLC)
- Training & Development
