PSU Scholarship Opportunities

School of Business Scholarships

If you are a graduate applicant who is admitted to the School of Business Adminis (SBA), or who will be admitted to the SBA by fall term, SBA encourages you to apply for scholarships now.  Because SBA scholarships are awarded for the following academic year, it is best  to apply early, preferably during winter quarter, so that you will be considered for all scholarships that are available.

The application deadline is February 1st.

More Financial Aid Options
The Portland State University Financial Aid Office can help you find federal, private, and institutional funding programs as you research options for financing your Master of International Management (MIM) degree.  When determining your financial need, the Financial Aid Office considers tuition, cost of living, and other additional expenses to establish your maximum aid eligibility. Visit the PSU Financial Aid Office at www.pdx.edu/finaid for more information.

Loan Options

A student loan is money that is borrowed and must be repaid over a period of time.  This period of time is usually after you leave school or drop below half-time enrollment. PSU participates in the Federal Direct Lending Program, which means that loan funds are borrowed from the federal government instead of a banking institution.

To be eligible for federal aid, you will need to file a Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA institutional code number for PSU is 003216. You can and should apply for financial aid before you are formally accepted to the MIM program. Your aid will then be awarded after you have been officially admitted to Portland State University. Visit the official FAFSA website at www.fafsa.ed.gov for more information and to begin an application.

  • Federal Stafford Loan:  the lowest interest educational loan.  For Graduate students this loan has a maximum award of $20,500 per academic year (usually a combination of subsidized and unsubsidized loans). To be eligible for these loans, you must complete the FAFSA form.
  • Alternative loans may available. However you must apply for these loans separately through a preferred provider. The Financial Aid Office can assist you.
  • Federal Perkins Loan and Federal Work-Study:  these funds are available to qualified applicants as well, and may require an additional application.

Permanent Residents and Other Non-citizens
Permanent residents are eligible for federal financial aid. Certain other non-citizens may also be eligible; you should contact the PSU Financial Aid Office for details.

International Students
Students in the U.S. on any type of visa are not eligible for federal financial aid. You may be able to apply for a non-federal alternative loan with a U.S. cosigner; contact the PSU Financial Aid Office for details.

Refunds
If your enrollment status changes during the MIM program or you choose to alter your credit load, the tuition charges will be refunded according to PSU’s refund policy.

PSU Payment Plans
PSU provides students the option of establishing a tuition payment plan by opting into the revolving charge account system through your PSU account online. This will allow you to make three payments each term on your tuition bill.

Contact Financial Aid
If you have any questions about the financial aid process, please contact the Portland State University Office of Financial Aid at askfa@pdx.edu or at (503) 725-3461.
