MIM STUDENT LIFE
Student life in the Master of International Management program is quite different from life in other business degree programs:
Our program is completed in just 15 months for full-time students, and in 27 months for part-time students.
Student DiversityBecause of the international nature of our program, we attract many students from overseas. Foreign nationals typically make up 40% - 50% of our graduating classes. This diversity provides a rich environment for studying intercultural communication and making friends from around the world.
Cohort LearningThe MIM program operates on the cohort learning system. Students follow our curriculum in a set format: classes begin in the fall term only, and students stay with the same classmates throughout the program. You will create friendships and professional networks that will last far beyond graduation. As our graduates will tell you, this learning environment is the ideal way to prepare for a career in international business.
PSU DiversityAs Oregon’s most ethnically and culturally diverse public university, we offer students a unique and enriching global perspective. Portland State University supports a long-standing tradition that study of other cultures and places is an essential part of education. We actively seek to broaden our involvement with the global community. As a whole, the University offers 135 study abroad opportunities in nearly 40 countries, and we have long-standing programs in Italy, China, Germany, Japan and Korea. PSU offers 23 foreign languages, more than any other university in the state. On campus, we serve students from all 50 states and 91 countries representing the full spectrum of races, cultures, ages and interests. PSU is an eclectic place where many languages are spoken, many cultures are shared and students are given endless opportunities to enrich their learning.
As an innovation manager for Nike, I look back at the MIM program with fondness, as it played a critical role (and continues to do so) in my professional endeavors."
