MIM PROGRAM TIMELINE

The MIM program is carefully designed to provide students with an intensive and collegial experience.

INTENSIVE: MIM students are scheduled to complete the 75-credit program in as little as 15 months (full-time) or 27 months (part-time). Compared with PSU’s MBA+ program, which schedules students to complete the 72-credit program in either 2 years (full-time) or 3 years (part-time), the MIM program is a truly accelerated program.

COLLEGIAL: Students enter the program as a cohort during the Fall term. The cohort model facilitates the MIM program’s fast pace because it helps students to cover academic material rapidly. Students receive their assignments at the same time and they are encouraged to develop teamwork skills in order to accomplish their many tasks. Teamwork also helps students keep pace with each other. You work hard to keep up, but you also receive support from your classmates at every step.

Important events in the MIM program’s timeline:

• Team Building Excursion (mid-September): the exciting outdoor excursion to Central Oregon highlights the cooperative skills needed for successful cohort learning.
• MIM Program Orientation (mid-September): follows the Team Building Excursion and includes tours, photograph sessions, Q & A opportunities, Program Overview presentation, Mixer and Dinner.
• Asia Study Tour (early March): A highlight of the MIM program is the 3-week Asia Study Tour. This tour of Asian business capitals gives students the opportunity to network with different companies and business executives in Japan, South Korea and China.
• International Study Project (mid-Summer): culminating project of the MIM program. Instead of a thesis, the MIM degree requires students to work with an actual organization on a specific real-world business issue. Beginning in mid-summer, the project typically takes 8-12 weeks to complete.
