HOW TO GET INVOLVED with MIM

There are many ways for area companies and professionals to get involved with the School of Business Administration’s (SBA) Graduate Business Programs’ MIM Program.

Here are quick links to some of the topics covered elsewhere among these pages:

In addition, we offer the following opportunities for professionals seeking to share their time, knowledge, and experience with future MIM business colleagues:

  • Guest Speakers on Campus
Throughout the 2008–2009 academic year, the School of Business Administration (SBA) hosted more than 100 executives as guest speakers. Sharing their expertise and knowledge, these executives represented a variety of Northwest industries ranging from the presidents of smaller companies like Insight Schools and Hanna Andersson, to the highest executives at Legacy Health Systems, Intel, and other multinational corporations. Becoming a guest speaker is an excellent opportunity for businesses to share expertise with future professionals and to connect with the next generation of Portland area business colleagues.
  • Executives in Residence
Each term the SBA invites select executives to participate in our Executive in Residence Program. During their time spent on campus, they engage in a selection of activities, including giving a class lecture and meeting with faculty and students. Some recent participating executives include:
  1. Brent Keeton, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer, Grange Capital
  2. Brian Henry, Executive Vice President and CFO, Cray Inc.
  3. Tony Arnerich, Chief Executive and Chief Investment Officer, Arnerich Massena & Associates, Inc.
  4. Geoff Gilmore, President and CEO, Climax Portable Machine Tools Inc.
  5. Hans van Alebeek, Vice President of Global Operations and Technology, Nike
  6. Jan Robinson, CPA, Hamstreet and Associates
  7. Greg Ness, President and COO, The Standard
  8. Pat Cox, Chief Executive Officer, TrustID
  • Age of the Pacific Lecture Series
Throughout the year the MIM program brings international business leaders to Portland State to present current trends and developments world wide. Lectures are open to studnets, facluty and the community. Some recent participating speakers include:
